tallymarksrp: His name is Jake Meyer, he’s nineteen years old and works at Sports Authority. He’s known as the football star and his friends think he looks a lot like Justin Bieber. Fortunately for you, he is open. Jake Meyer was a name you’d hear whispered through the halls of any school, almost all the time. People would clear him a path when he walked, looks of admiration received from every onlooker. Being star Quarterback of the Maroons did have it’s advantages, and so did that devilishly cheeky grin that he knew just how to use. He is the typical definition of a jock, going for parties, getting girls, and basically living the american dream. He’s a charmer, this one. He always knows exactly what to say to get a girl to swoon. Nobody knows how he does it, but it’s probably got something to do with those beautiful eyes and that boyish charm. Growing up, Jake had nothing. Not just him, but his family and him had spent a good few years living in a single room apartment, his father trying his best to provide for him and his mother. Years went by, struggling through poverty, when his father finally landed a job for himself that assured their family a better life. Just when they finally believed that everything was going to be alright, it fell through. Everything his father had worked for was taken away in one split second and there was nothing Jake could do to help. From then on, things only got worse. Not only did the money stop coming in completely, he entered high school. In high school you can’t be the guy living in a tiny house with no money, especially if you want to “fit in” or be one of “the populars”. For Jake, it wasn’t really that hard to fit in. With his god-given football talent, exceptionally good looks and ability to lie to his teeth, no one knew anything about his real life, save for his closest friend in the world, Valeria Cortez. Valeria had been his one saving grace, picking him up when he was at his worst. He knew that they could be real with each other, which was probably why he’d fallen head over heels for her from the moment he’d first seen that scared little girl walk into the classroom. But Val couldn’t make his problems go away, even if she did make it hurt a lot less. He knew his family depended on him to get good grades and go to a good college on a scholarship, so that one day he could support them and they might be able to spend some portion of their lives in luxury. He was well set on that path, determined to prove himself but lately he’s found himself slipping. He studies but it doesn’t matter how hard he does because he can’t seem to remember anything. When the test is placed in front of him, he can’t answer the questions, and no matter how hard he tries he can’t get a grade above a C minus. Not only are his teachers threatening to keep him back if he doesn’t score, his coach has given him an ultimatum, get better scores or he’s off the team, simultaneously shattering his hopes for a scholarship. Jake on Valeria Cortez “She’d joined our school late and I didn’t really have anyone sitting with me so I let her come sit with me, I guess it was fate or something because we’ve pretty much been best friends since then. That’s over a decade. I feel bad hiding my condition from her but I got myself tested. Because I wasn’t scoring on my tests and stuff. And yeah, turns out I’m dyslexic. Great, right? I know she’ll want to try help, but she’ll just stress for an unhelpable cause.” Jake on Oscar Hart “We met at one of the football parties, I had no idea why he was invited, but I wasn’t about to be an asshole about it. I saw him ditched by his friend and so I got rid of my beer pong partner and then I asked him if he could fill in. He was willing and we played pretty great, we beat a whole heap of the other guys. He’s a really cool dude, it’s surprising, you would think by looking at him that he was a bit of a loser.” Jake on Yuri Koizumi “I don’t know how this thing with her started, but it’s good. I don’t have to worry about there being strings attached because she’s having sex with other guys anyway, so it’s good to just be able to focus on feeling good, and not about whether she is feeling loved enough, that’s not what our time together is about, it’s about getting ourselves off, relieving the pressure a little after a stressful day. It’s good, it’s fun.”
